About Me

My Childhood

My name is Kevin Hall. I was born in 1982 and moved to Brigham City Utah when I was 4 years old. I had an awesome childhood growing up near Foothill Elementary School. I enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing sports with my childhood friends. The group of us were pretty much inseparable, playing from sun up to sun down and many sleepovers.

Early Passion for BYU Football

When I was young, I quickly developed a love for BYU football. My dad started buying season tickets the year I was born and would sometimes bring me along. One time when I was 7, I was apparently acting so terrible during the game that he promised to never take me to another one. Luckily that didn’t last.

In 1990, BYU beat #1 Miami, but I wasn’t in attendance since my dad took some other friends, I never wanted to miss another game after that. The next year I attended every single home game. In 1996, BYU was 14-1 and that season was when my love of BYU football was really engrained in me. Since 1992, I can literally count on one hand how many home games I’ve missed.

My Start in the Restaurant Industry

In school, I was a very average student. A bit shy, but was friends with a wide variety of people. I attended Box Elder Jr High and Box Elder High School. When I was 14, I started working at McDonald’s on Main Street for a few hours a week. My brother was the general manager at the time. I eventually left for a bit and was rehired on my 16th birthday.

All through high school I worked at McDonald’s. This is really where I got my passion started in the restaurant industry. I learned a lot through my experience and immediately after graduating I was made a shift manager and then shortly thereafter became First Assistant to the General Manager. I learned so much from McDonald’s training program (It’s probably one of the best in the world) on how to run a business.

I was originally going to attend Utah State University to pursue a career in sports medicine, but I was offered a position to help open up the new Golden Corral in Ogden. After 6 months I was made the General Manager. I worked in that position for 5 years. It was a very difficult job at times but I learned a lot of valuable lessons.

Creating Memories at Peach City

After years of experience in the restaurant industry, I knew I wanted to open up my own restaurant. I partnered with my good friend Nate Hyde in search of a restaurant. Nate was the General Manager at McDonald’s while I was First Assistant and we enjoyed working together. Nate and I both had similar goals and a philosophy that a restaurant should be more than just the bottom line, but rather building up people and creating memories. We searched for several years all over the country for a restaurant chain we could bring to the Brigham City area. Instead we found the perfect restaurant for the area did already exist and had been here since 1937.

In July 2008, we purchased Peach City from Harvey and Blynn Morgan. Peach City had been a staple in the community with its fresh ice cream made daily, car hop servers, home cut fries, classic Big Joe burgers, and hand-mixed shakes. What makes Peach City great is that it’s always been more than just the food, it’s been about making memories. We made a mission statement: “We strive to create a family-oriented restaurant, offer friendly service, serve quality food, and provide a place where memories can be made and remembered.” I hope the people who visit feel we’ve lived up to this statement.

Many people ask me what’s the best and hardest part about owning a restaurant, my answer is the same for both: The employees. For most of the kids we hire, this is their first job. Sometimes it can be difficult getting them trained up to create that consistent positive restaurant experience for customers, but it’s so worth it once we get there.

Over the years I’ve gotten to know hundreds of kids and its really fun seeing them grow up and build fulfilling lives for themselves. There are even several married couples who first met while working together at Peach City, I’ve been privileged to attend a few of their weddings. Being a positive impact in these kids lives is by far the most rewarding part of the job.

My Family

In 2011, I connected with Kasi Hull on social media. We knew each other back in high school but never really spoke. I asked her out on a date on Valentine’s Day 2012. We really hit things off and one thing led to another and we were married October 11, 2012. Kasi has been a immoveable rock in my life and I’m so grateful to be married to her.

We now have three kids. Our first daughter, Grace was born in 2014. Our second daughter, Charlotte was born in 2016, and our third daughter, Elsie, was born in 2018. Our family loves to go on new adventures, make new friends wherever we go. We go on family hikes together, take mini day-trips, long road trips, and even travel overseas.

Getting into Real Estate

In 2016, I used a friend who was a Realtor to sell my house. I picked his brain about the process and it really got me interested. Later, one of my Peach City employees was in the process of buying a house and started asking me questions. That’s when the idea came to me that I could do this part time and help employees and close family members. I began the process to get licensed.

In May 2019, Nate and I expanded on our Peach City success and bought Kirt’s Drive-In down in North Ogden. Once we got the restaurant running in full operations like Peach City, I was able to really get started with real estate. My first client was my sister in law. She bought my childhood home in October 2020. I quickly fell in love with the real estate process. The money was good, but to me being part of someone’s dream to buy a house they can call home, or helping so they can take the next step is pretty dang special.

Being Part of the Community

Beyond the two restaurants and real estate, I’ve also been lucky to be active part in the local community. In 2018, a vacancy in the Brigham City Chamber of Commerce came up and I was appointed to fill a two year term. I really enjoyed it and was asked to run for the seat in 2020. I’ve really enjoyed being part of the chamber—meeting other businesses in the area, attending networking activity, participating in ribbon cuttings, and helping to make decision that help business members in the community.

Since 2022, I’ve also been part of the Board of Health for the Bear River Health Department, which covers Box Elder, Cache, and Rich counties. It’s been interesting to learn so much about the complexity of public health and the inner workings of government.
